I have been mostly shooting with film recently so when the opportunity arose to take some shots at dawn with fellow travelers I blew the dust off the digital and took it for a spin. Three of us hit the road early to find a new day.

I tried something a little different to amuse myself and try something new. Feedback is always welcome.

I like the first one very much! The bottom left is a bit dark perhaps, but the rest more than makes up for it. Lovely muddy yellows, and the ship, ferris wheel and half-built building all reinforce a sort of 'bones of the city' message. Cool reflection too, rather like a painting. There's a little square thing in the top right corner that might be worth cloning out.

2nd one is fine and has nice colours, but at the end of the day it's 'just' a sunrise. We see so many great ones on photography sites, so IMO it has to be an unusually special one to have much impact. It seems to have very dark top right and bottom left corners - have you obscured the lens with something deliberately?

Number one for me. I think I might have liked just a little detail in the dark areas, particularly in the forground.
