or toadstools or one of each. Really my knowledge of these is scanty ;) but I do like to try to capture them.

If they wouldn't kill me, they look like they'd be great in a stir-fry. Dig the softer light in shot one!

thanks Marko. I took both of them at around the same time- about 5 pm right after a rainstorm.

I'm with Marko, #1 for me as well. Nice macros, Bambi!

aren't they irresistible? glad to see someone else getting that camera on the ground. I would have done a few things differently, but these are both good. I like the texture of the second one especially. It's tiny!

thanks WD- praise from the queen-of-photographing-small-things-in-the-woods is good for my ego. But tell, what would you have done differently?

well, I would have eliminated whatever is close and OOF in the first shot. It doesn't add depth, it distracts. Hard to see stuff like that sometimes though. I did it yesterday and for me the shot is ruined now. The second one...I'm not sure, I think I would have given it a tiny bit more breathing room. the crop is a bit tight. In that one the extra pine needles or whatever add to the composition by highlighting the sticky nature of either the mushroom or the recent rain. Just my 2 cents.

thanks WD. I took a shot or two today trying to take these suggestions into account. we'll see how it works :)

:thankyou:
