JAS and I want to initiate a photo walk for all Calgary photographers on Sunday, September 18. We are proposing to meet around 11 o'clock at Thompson Park (17th Avenue and 8 Street, S.W.). We understand there is an Art Walk Calgary Artwalk - Celebrating 26 Years! (http://www.calgaryartwalk.com/index.html) planned for that weekend and the park will be near many of the art galleries on the route.
Sign up by responding to the thread, or just show up. We went out last year in September and you can see results at http://www.photography.ca/Forums/f3/publicphotography-org-celebration-focusing-photographers-rights-9892-20.html This thread gives some history of the creation of a new website at Publicphotography.org | A Celebration Focusing on the Rights of Photographers (http://publicphotography.org/) sponsored by photographers from this forum.
I think you can even still buy t-shirts at Custom T-shirts, T-shirts printing & personalized T-shirts by publicphotography (http://publicphotography.wordans.com/my/boutique)
It's always helpful to meet other photographers, talk about photography, watch them shoot, see the results afterwards and sooner or later go for a beer or a coffee.
Looking forward to it.

Thanks for pointing this out, Asnow. Indeed I see there are two Scott Kelby walks in Calgary October 2. But as of August 3, one was fully registered with 50 people. There is a second walk organized for October 2 meeting in Chinatown. I'm still okay having our own walk.

Today's photowalk with Jackie and Kylie was a blast. It was quite a learning experience for me, since they are both way more experienced photography wise than I am. We saw a lot of art during ArtWalk that I really enjoyed as well. Some of my shots:

Cool stuff, Mike! We definitely saw a lot of art. Did you see the Lovin's post "Beautiful Work"? It features one of the artists whose work we saw today.

Very nice results so far. Big fan of Bee at Work and the interior shot of the pub/church or whatever it is. Was it only the two of you or did more show up?

Awww, man, I missed it! I did enjoy last years walk. I really regret not having able able to join you. By the looks of it you had a blast, and came back with some fantastic shots. Love the piano shot, JAS, the "woman" and the Motorcycle, Mike. Sure hope I can join you next year, unless we can plan another one .. ????
