While on the way to Buffalo Lake we stopped by Dorothy, Alberta. This is a ghost town, a heaven for artists of all sorts, mainly painters and photographers. There is not much left, but what is left is in pretty good repair, considering it had been abandoned years back. Nearby is an old abandoned mine, the Atlas Coal Mine, and I have some images of that one as well. Some of the images on the Flickr Show (http://www.flickr.com/photos/50569829@N06/sets/72157627426003359/show/) are turning out to be pretty red, for some reason I have not figured out yet ... they looked good when uploaded. Anyway, I played a bit with De-saturation and over saturation.

Matt, it's an interesting slide show of an interesting place. Good job. I love the 6th picture from the beginning, of the old church(?) with the low hanging cloud. Needs straightening but it's a great shot for sure. Also the shots of the field are great, but my preference is the plain one that isn't over or under saturated. Thanks for sharing them.

Nice series. I like the schoolhouse especially. When hubby and I drove around lake Superior we found one like that...I can't remember if it was the UP or southern Ontario, but the light was crap and my shots aren't nearly as good as yours.

Great set! Looks like I could spend a day there and shoot the whole time.

Very nice series Matt. Love the reflections in the Church windows, and the green shot of the field-with the look of movement, with the flowing lines, and dipping full heads of grain.

Hey thanks all ... I got to get myself a shift tilt lens, I figured out. That "warping" in Photoshop does not really work all that well. One of these days I will go there either later at night or in the early morning ... this was almost mid day, terrible sun.
