On our way home from our weekend away last weekend, we stopped in at the beautiful Lake Moogerah and found these Tree orchids ...
Yes Bambi ... it's that time of the year again in Aussie when the flowering trees start showing off :)

Beautiful captures on all MA. Love that 5th shot, with that nice smmmoooooth background. Such beautiful colours to see on such a drab day here, (grey and raining).

BTW, would be nice to see more of yours also.;)

Wonderful flowers, M.A! I like the backlight on the last one.

ahh, spring. no matter where it is, it's glorious.
the white flowers remind me of our rhododendrons...they, too, have the light green-y yellow pollinator guide on the top petal.

That's what makes the internet so cool, getting ready to head into winter here but can have spring all over again. Great colors with all of those, I saw some flowers today but they looked like they were holding on to the very last breath.

Thanks Lizard and WD. I never realised that the colour was to guide a likely pollinator down to the sweet bits.

it's one of the few we can actually see, photos taken with infrared film show more we can't. Same with ultraviolet. Insects can see those wavelengths, but humans can't. it's fascinating.

That IS fascinating. I learned something :)
