Down here in Louisiana, because we are so close to sea level and New Orleans is actually below sea level, many cemeteries are above ground because of the water level so close to the surface. New Orleans is famous for their cemeteries and have been photographed by many people.
Has anyone ever been down here and shot them?
I am planning on going next weekend and shooting some. Any advice will be helpful.
If you have never seen the New Orleans cemeteries, just google it, you will be surprised.

I've never been but I love graves and crypts. :) I think all the same rules apply as for any photography:
figure out what you want to show and then how to do it
watch out for the basic rules of comp- check the background to make sure it's not too busy or distracting
do interesting angles and perspectives (use your knees or lay on the ground ;) )

Yeah, the cemeteries in New Orleans are mostly crypts, but they are individual crypts (and maybe two person). They are very odd and spooky. They are also known for Voo Doo rituals and other occult happenings.
Here is a grave yard I shot in St Gabriel, LA. Imagine these little crypts by the thousands, that is how the new Orleans cemeteries look like
