Brussels streets

Spent the weekend in Brussels visiting an old friend who recently moved there to get on the European Union gravy train :D

Managed to take a few photos, here are some of the early results:

I like the graphic quality in shot 3

Your timing in no 1 is just perfect, I think the un-fallen foot makes the shot for me, very film noir. love 3 also just something about the feel of it appeals to me. If no two was posted on its own it would be heaped with praise but in you triptych it is just over shadowed slightly by the other two.

I feel number 2 missed what you were going for because of the huge column down the middle of the image. It looks like two great shots merges together. The left side is especially nice with the lady and her finger to her lips. The middle column is just to distracting to me.

I am guessing the pole is actually a map of some sort, hence the looks on the faces of the two people on the near left. It does not bother me at all this pole. It is a bit of a counterpoint to all the converging lines otherwise in the photo.

Jacqueline is spot-on about the pole, it is the edge of a subway map. Minor confession - I actually took this photo (and the door photo) for my photography club's monthly theme 'divided'. I was trying to catch the activity on both sides of the map, but unfortunately despite waiting for a while there wasn't a moment where I had people on both sides at the same time. Then my train arrived :) Of the few photos I took of this scene I liked this one the most precisely because of the lady's finger, well spotted antiquetiger :)
