Hi folks,

I was posting these on another forum in response to some questions about whether this lens is worth getting, and Brendan spotted the pic on my Flickr so I thought I should share it here too :o

If anyone is considering this lens, it is inexpensive, small (try comparing it to the Samyang 35mm f1.4!!!) and absolutely brilliant IMO, especially for taking indoor portraits.

The central portion is nice and sharp even with the aperture wide open, especially for such a fast lens. I've owned several other 50mm f1.4s and a 50mm f1.2 and wide open this lens is sharper than any of them (in the centre, see below).

The extreme corners aren't brilliant, so I wouldn't suggest it for landscapes or architecture, but for short DOF portraits it's a fantastic lens.

For those of us using APS-C cameras it's a nice 'normal' prime length too, roughly equivalent to a nifty fifty on full frame.

I agree 100 %. I have this lens and love it.
