Any suggestions here? I know we are all crazy busy right now preparing for the holidays, but we can come up with something here, right? How about the obvious - Christmas - can be preparing for, neighbourhood lights, Christmas morning, Church happenings, Ho Ho Claus, busy-ness of the shopping centres, festivals...so on and so on.

Ok I know it's late but I still think there's time for at least 1 assignment.
The holidays - it's wide open anything goes.

I have a bunch of shots that I will post tomorrow!

thx
Marko

The season always gets a kick off with a baking day. This year, grandson Altey was able to join us! Photo shot with my point and shoot - not technically good, but I like the anticipation on the little guy's face. This is a candid shot and not posed.

This is very very cute and quite well done. This shot would also work well in Sepia or B/W IMO.

thx

Maybe I'm cheating here (cuz this was done for many different purposes ;)) but here is a quick/silly family holiday shot!

Hope everyone has a great holiday and a happy new year.

I took this photo just after it had snowed here a couple of weeks ago. This is a christmas tree farm located next to the New River which is just down the road from my house.

The original came out rather dark and dingy looking so I did some post-processing to make the scene appear as I saw it. I raised the brightness and the exposure just a bit and raised the saturation of red, green and yellow to make the trees, silo and select branches stick out.

Thanks for that TT!

Asterismos - Very nice shot!!!! Love the curves!!!
If I may, cropping 1-1.5 inches straight off the top would help this shot.

lily13 - adorable and I like how you've creatively applied the shot to the theme!

Thanks Marko for you feedback! I will consider cropping the sky like you said. I have used this image for christmas cards this year and putting the text "Merry Christmas" across the top helped to accomplish this same effect.

Thanks again!

Just joined the forum and I thought this assignment was a good one to begin participating with. Was going to use this shot for our Christmas card this year, but another image won the toss. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year to all.

This photo was taken from the street and I actually did end up using it as a Christmas card because of the birds and because it is just absurd. :)
