I like the look of this Hybrid (Canada & Domestic) Goose that's been hanging around.

Not too often one gets to use a 50mm lens for birding. While walking along the 'ridge' at Mud Lake, this Downy Woodpecker buzzed in front of my face and landed a few feet away. It sat there until it realized I didn't have any food. Yup, a couple of Downy's have joined the local Chickadees and Nuthatches looking for handouts. Here also is a pic I took two springs ago with one eating out of my wife's hand. Now if only the resident Pileated Woodpeckers would join in - that would be a shot!

Nice set. I'm a big fan of #3 as well... I have a similar shot with a chickadee. :)

Nice set. I have never seen the hybred goose before...........nice. Also did not know that a woodpecker would take a peanut....nice catch.

No doubt #3, never heard of woodpeckers going for nuts either. Learn something everyday.

Some quite interesting captures Doug. That is a different looking goose for sure. Love the hand feeding Downy. We have a Hairy that prefers peanuts over suet here also.
