I design websites about as good as I take photographs!!!

I am about to start selling these professionally reproduced images of an original panoramic photograph I own, so I figured I will need some kind of website. I have hired a guy as the reproducer (owner of a fine arts gallery here in Baton Rouge) and a guy that is a holder of LSU licenses (owner of the biggest LSU merchadise store here in Baton Rouge).

What you think?

Nice start, the background image was a little slow to load on my connection, but once it was in the cache your site is nice and nippy.

I don't know why it is slow on your parts, maybe because it is international. It loads instantly here and on my phone.

It loads instantly there as you probably have it cached. Once it's has been cached it works great. The original image at 1.37MB is a large image to be pulling down across the web regardless of where you are. We have a substantial internet connection at work and I could see the page fill in slowly - the first time - and then it was clickity-click as it was cached after that. Hold down the CTRL key and press F5 to force a reload of the entire page and you'll see the difference.

Yup - cache issue for sure. No need for an image that large as the BKGD image on a website.

That's certainly a unique photo with some historical background. Good luck with the sales.

Thanks, the two other guys involved in this dealings believe we will sell a ton (its what they do for a living), and have already pre-sold many (un-officially). I think it is way over priced, they think it is under priced, so we settled in the middle. As a collector, I would not pay over $100 for this thing, but also, as a collector, I don't collect reproductions, either. Including the framing cost, I paid over $2000 for this original (my wife almost killed me).
