Came out this morning to 8" of new snow. One thing that stood out to me on the drive out to work was the red/brown shrubbery that lines the ditches down both sides of the road.....it stands out well with so much white all around.
I think i'm starting to get a little better at this winter landscape thing. This pic is completely unedited. I just put it thru LR3 to resize it. If I could improve one thing the snow on the road is a little blown out to my eye.

I'm not so sure it's blown out at all. It looks good on my monitor. This is actually almost perfect exposure. Colour balance could be fractionally, fractionally off ... maybe.
It's a great shot.

I agree with MA on this one. the exposure looks perfect. I hope you have 4 wheel drive and a good set of tires!!

Very nicely done Aub, and I agree with the others, very well exposed, especially considering the grey conditions.

Only one thing though. Just like a man, trying to pass this off as 8 inches:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Thanks everyone!

I heard that Hbg!!:D
The depths were up and down from place to place. When I pulled my F150 in at the office it was dragging bottom I'll have you know.:):)

I'm really liking the snow pictures I'm seeing from you and HBG. In the GTA (Mississauga) we haven't had much of a winter.

I like perspective which give a nice depth. It is very good exposed but need some level correction.

I like what you did with the photo also Vyeko!

Nice image! I agree with everyone else, just a hint overexposed but no clipping at all on my monitor.
Vyeko's edit echoes my initial feeling about more contrast. I might burn in the "shadows" of the snow by another 15% or so for extra poppiness...but that's just me.

Vyeko - nice edit --- on colors, etc.. maybe just a wee strong on the sharpness tho. I agree with Marko on burning in the snow just a little bit to pop it out more.
Nice image, Aub!

Good shot but will work out on that red/brown shrubbery making them more colorful so will stand out of the white.
Anyway to me look a bit underexposed.
