Okay, a bit of a departure from my normal style. The idea was convey a sense of cold, winter, etc. Does the post/colours/etc work or not? Thoughts?

Hmmm - A lot going on here and very appealing to my eye at first glance, I just want this shot to work. I love the colour, exposure and cold feel of shot 1. In terms of the composition I have to ask myself what is the focal point and it's not clear to me. There seems to be lots of empty space here with objects on the horizon that appear too small to me.
The black hole in the foreground is stealing my attention which makes me think it might have been better to really focus on that black hole by making it take up more room in the scene and forego some of the background. This scale diiference seems more drastic in the low res than the hi res.
Love to get other opinions here.
Shot 2
The blue colour cast is a bit strong for my taste. I think again I would have made the boat take up much more space in this photo. I would have zoomed in big time.
Hope that helps

Good points Marko, here's a VERY quick re-work of #1 (I know it's a crap clone-job; it was just to get the idea across). Right direction? Part of the idea behind the composition was to convey a large space (even though it's only a small cove).

Yes this shot works better for me T.I. as my eye wanders and does explore the space.
