There is a lot of light pollution whenever I shoot startrails these days. This shot was stacked from 30 minutes worth of 30 second exposures (60 images). Do you prefer startrails with a pitch black background, or is a slightly coloured sky OK?
Other comments welcome as always!

I prefer colored sky. With very long exposure we get color tones which are not visible.

Thanks V! The colored sky seemed to be the natural thing to do!

I too prefer a bit of colour as opposed to pitch black.

I think both can work. Not sure why you can't shoot some with colour and some b&w. It does not have to be one or the other, both is also an option.

Yes - for sure. And a lot of the background intensity can be controlled in my post-processing as well. I just wanted to see what you all thought!
