Just thoughts or opinions. I wish I could have stopped him from grinning but I couldn't and it kind of distracts me, anyone else's thoughts?

I like it. Might be a frag too much shadow around his eye there. I don't mind the grin at all.

What I like about your portraits is the mastery of shadow in relationship to light. I don't mind the grin, but it might have been a more compelling image without it.

I guess it depends on your point of view. Honestly, I like the grin but then I'm generally a happy person and prefer to see happy photos most of the time.
