Well yesterday I broke down and bought Lightroom 4 and so far no bug issues that was mentioned in another thread. So far I am liking it. I will be doing more with it over the weekend and let you know how I find. Anyone else purchase it? If you have can you give us your opinion on it.

Good question, AL. Lightroom, Lightroom, Lightroom. Seems it's on all photographers' minds these days. I had attempted to use LR3 2 years ago when it came out and disliked it. However, at my amateur level, I am trying LR4. I found the Library and cataloging quite fast and accurate, although Picasa sorts directories chronologically by time of entry, not alphabetically, which makes finding pictures easier. This is a great tutorial about using the Develop module:

The Develop module is IMO the most important, and it has some amazing features to change the image in a non-destructive way, so you can always go back to the beginning easily. I love the screen setup and user interface. Everything is customizable and transferable to other images. Being able to brush changes onto an area of an image is fantastically cool.
There are more excellent tutorials in this set with Julianne Kost, but I found some of them cut off in the middle and I don't know if anyone corrected that yet.
For me, LR4. at my level of skill, is a lot to learn but not annoying. I'm having trouble figuring some things out, like saving to JPEG format once I'm done developing, and uploading to Flickr from LR. I'm used to Photoshop Elements, which I still think I'll need to use, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. I understand there is a lot of criticism about the Map and Book modules, but the tutorials helped me understand them.
With the new, much lower price, it's a no-brainer really: a huge technical advance for very little money.

Moi aussi - popped for it as soon as I got the email. Love the improvements in the algorithms/sliders in the develop module.

I picked it up just for the new photo-book mod. A better way to work on projects.

Full version for new LR users is $150, for owners of previous editions (at least LR3) it's $80. Find the upgrade on Newegg, B&H, probably Adorama.

ya it was well worth the $90 after taxes and all that stuff for the up grade.

So has anyone noticed the reported and Adobe acknowledge tone curve issues with images processed in LR3? It is one of the reasons I have not upgraded yet.
