Here to toot my horn. I have been identified as the photographer for the US/Canadian Celtic Rock band "The Rogues (http://therogues.com/fr_jackie.cfm)". During my relationship, I gathered an embarrassingly large number of images. I got it into my head to produce a picture book. Sooo, using Blurb, I came up with the square format book "The Rogues: A Year and Then Some". It is linked to Blurb (http://www.blurb.com/bookstore/detail/2374277) from the store page on their website and even better, on the iTunes Store (how cool is that) as a digital download. I apologise for the colour images in advance, the book is largely monochrome.

29 views with no comments seems a little odd. I'm not asking anybody to buy the book and I only posted it here based on Marko's recommendation because I didn't see anyplace logical to post it). I figured, hey, these guys are my peers and they might like to see some success being had, you know, provide encouragement to someone who had thought about doing the same thing. Blurb really made it easy to do - the hardest thing being which images to use.

But crickets, did not expect that. Doesn't anybody even want to know what the process was like in publishing the book?

for the iTunes version, I found it by going to the "books" tab and searching on the word string "rogues a year and then some"

It apparently can send a sample of the book to your device's "iBooks", but I have not tried that option.

I really like the images and the way they are put together - wonderful job and congrats on all the effort.

In terms of views versus comments....would you mind if i changed the thread title for you? I'm just going to do it anyway...hope that's cool.

Thx! Marko

Congrats Gremlich - I think it is great that you could combine your interests in music and photography and then put it together in this way.

I was very lucky in that the band allowed me to be as "invasive" as I would allow myself to be (like inches from the Drummer's head!). Without the relationship and trust we built up over the years we've known each other, I would not have been able to have most of those shots. A lot of people have band shots, but not many from the wings or from behind the band as they are entertaining.

Anybody can do this type of photography if they take the time to cultivate a relationship of friends vice one of just being a fan trying to get in the way. The band's front man even asked to write the "foreward" for me after he found out I was doing the project. (He's Canadian, btw)

I really learned a lot about my own photography over the past 3 years, mostly through the association with the band. Making the actual book was a wholly different, but, in retrospect, easy project once I knew what images I was finally settled on.
