Soon, I'm sure...it's just starting to happen here in Halifax so you can't be too far behind... a couple of more weeks maybe?

Nice colour in 1, but I dig the comp and the more interesting light of shot 2.

Agree with Marko. Like the comp and lighting in the second one.

Also really like shot #2. Beautifully composed, nicely focused, and good detail in the white petals.

I don't know what the purple is, but I sure do like it. Undoubtably, it couldn't be found in our zone.

Real nice shots, iggy. Real nice.

Thank you very much, Barefoot. Both of these are local examples of crocuses (croci). We generally get white, purple, and yellow around here.

Always makes me giggle as the Canadian winter ends and you lot go all gaga over flowers :)

I wish I could sympathize with your giggling.. :P Fall is pretty and colourful. Fresh snow and ice in early and mid winter can be beautiful. But during the last 6 to 8 weeks the snow has mostly gone away. Everything is dead, brown, grey, or black. You go to work in the dark and you come home in the dark. It gets really freakin' depressing. Seeing the flowers starting to bloom with the longer daylight hours really picks up the spirit.

Yeh I know why it excites you lot each year ... it's just so alien to me. In NZ the ark of the sun was lower than at home and made a huge difference to the daylight. I can only imagine what it's like on planet Canada during winter.

Do you not have Daylight Savings Time in Canada? I live for it :) This year where I live it started 3 weeks earlier than it used to and now it's light out til 7:30 pm.

In a way, I made my peace with winter years ago. I do that by getting out in it, every day, and walking 3 miles. There is beauty; you just have to look a little harder. But I understand where Iguanasan is coming from. Here, it's not so much the snow or cold or even the limited daylight hours- for me it's the over abundance of gray sky days that we get in Jan. and Feb.

Anyway, spring's here. Nice crocuses!

Thanks, celksy. Yes, we do get DST in Canada but an hour doesn't make a huge difference and yes it's the grey skies and grey ground during Jan and Feb. I do get out in Winter more than I used to get out and I can really enjoy a pretty snow covered day. It's the aftermath that doesn't work so well for me :)
