Went to Frank Lake today; suppose it is a bit early yet for most of the varieties to show themselves. So my first impression was: Man, it's amazinge what the wind can blow around!

Then I went into the blind; caught this Blue Winged Teal. Apparently one of the first ones back from South America. The critters travel farthest south, so I have been told ....

Last but not least I caught this Franklin's Gull in flight ... (man, I love my 300mm)

Ummmm ... one of them is empty ... the other one was ... ummmm ... close to overflowing .... I suppose the people taking care of these things thought it was all for the birds, anyway. But I don't believe there was anyone in the other one, unless they were in the basement .....

I really like the second shot. I have always been fascinated with movements in placidity; it talks so much about life.
