Took a long while to catch this one. They tend to stay deep down in the reeds. Finally got a quick clear shot, then gone again.

Bambi. It is mostly about looking for habitat that would hold birds. First and foremost is, almost 90% of all birds rely on close proximity to a water body of some sort. I look at a lot of maps, as in topo, Backroad Mapbooks, and GPS also, to find habitat. Then off we go for a drive/hike/sit. Or in some cases runnin' and gunnin'. We do use the Ranger UTV to get way back in off the beaten path when needed, (although the car, and truck, have both been in places they had no reason to be in more than once). It's usually a 50/50 split on going for specific species, or just going for whatever happens to be at a location.
