Here's a few from a recent shoot I did with a local make-up artist, and 3 models. I'm still waiting for her too choose which images she wants processing, so you might see some more in the next few weeks.

Its a bit different from what I normally shoot, but I'm about 90% happy with the images.

Really dig the purple here- very cool set!
The lighting is nicely set up. Shot 2 is my fave here.
Since I know you are into lighting, if I had one comment it would be to watch the areas where the light trails off and it crosses the body. The model's left foot in shot one would look a bit better with some more light. You might be able to add it in post though. Had the foot had more light, shot 1 would be my fave.
Very much looking forward to seeing additional shots from this series.

I, too, like the light a lot. Just a couple of things that distract me a wee bit, and I am by no means a portrait photographer. I find the legs in shot #1 too dominant. There is way more of a balance in shot #2, imho. The light, too, in shot #2 emphasizes the face, not the legs. Shot #3 is very mysterious. Would have liked to see more light on the eye, though. However, I generally love the way you have dealt with this, and I am looking forward to more of this ...

Purple is pretty much my favourite colour and I'm digging your results. Also, I'm a fan of number 2 as well but I like that you've managed to capture "thoughtful" facial expressions. In many of the model shots I've seen the model's expressions are completely blank, like a sheet of paper but not here. Nicely done.

very nice series, I think the others have hit on some salient points to be considered in future and like the others I look forward to seeing more.

Richard - WOW, like the mystery and tones in #1, the clarity/sharpness of #2 and the clarity and composition of #3. I'll ask rather than assume you shot these with your speedlites or have you added something new to your lighting kit?

Thanks. :)

Yes Ed, I'm still on the small strobes for the moment. Most of these used 4-5 speedlites with various modifiers.
