This is a composite of 5 frames taken about 8 minutes apart at moonrise. I'm trying to get an effect of showing the trajectory of the moon, but something's not quite working in this photo. Any suggestions?

The play here is very cool. You might also try a multiple exposure in camera if your camera can do it as additional play.
For me, what's not working is the very bright reflection at right edge and the unsharp lit building in the bkgd.
Personally I'd shoot this at a smaller aperture and focus on the house. That should get the house and moon sharp.
If you uploaded the image at 275k or greater - then that is what is causing the softness, and if so, please ignore above comment.

The reflection in the water looks like sunshine. I would crop out the water
