I need a true critique - Image submitted to a photo contest "Angels in the Rain"

I work for BASF Chemical Company and every year they have a photo contest for next years corporate calendar. This year, the images had to have three of the 6 BASF colors in it (red, blue, green, orange, and light blue). Last night was the deadline to enter and I can only submit it on BASF's secure intranet, so I could not submit from home. Luckily I had this image on my memory stick, because the one I made for submission was too big (5MB max), it was 9 MB.

So I submitted this image but I am not happy with it. Due to the min size requirements, I could not crop it at all (2800x2600 min), so I do not like the crop. Plus, my daughter had on a pink outfit, so I color adjusted it to red but it seems very saturated to me.

I like the comp here but to be honest the colours here feel forced and oversaturated and you have 3 very bright zones... I feel the vertical BW that i have seen is vastly superior...
I know it's too late because you already submitted it....but I have a suggested crop anyway. I know you said the crop requirements were strict so maybe I would have chosen the crop that best works with the image and then put white or black around it as an exterior frame.

Yeah, I get to resubmit because I read it wrong. The size is supposed to be 3900x2600 (not 2900x2600)

I liked the B&W version of this and quite like the colour version too. Of your proposed resubmit, I prefer the 2nd one.

Me too. I love the BW I have of this. I am going with the 2nd resubmission
