From a re-enactment some time back.

It was a cold February morning in 2009. A few members of the camera club met there and we sorta spread out to see what we could find. I was shooting some drilling being performed by a company of Rebel Soldiers when I heard the faint sound of music coming from somewhere. I turned to find the source and realized it was coming from one of the tents. I peeled open a door to find him reading his music and plucking the strings of his fiddle. I pulled the trigger before he had the chance to look up at me.

I used to call this one Ashokan Farewell (http://www.myspace.com/markoconnor/music/songs/ashokan-farewell-album-version-65417523) until I discovered that the tune was titled in reference to a place in Upstate New York. In other words, not a fitting piece for a Johnny Reb to be playing. Why don't you open on the link in a new window and have a listen while you study Company Fiddler for a few minutes?

Love candid shots like this. Shows people "really" in their own element, and a connection to their interests in life. very nicely done BF.

There is a softness about it that is really cool. Tones and candid nature are fabulous.

I agree. I also like his concentration and the interest created by the unusual playing of the violin
