Summer's End

[Isa Luna]

No, summer is not quite over but it has been hot, and dry... and it is in the last stretch. Labour Day week-end is upon us already. Hence, that is what I titled this set depicting some of that dryness and wilt that is now only doing to be more frequent.

Also shot with my loaner 60mm macro lens. Gods I will want to buy my own !! :)

Quite an interesting set. I quite like shots 1 and 3 here

Shot #1 does the job. Keep your eyes on craigslist and sooner or later one (60mm) will show up there. I can't help but believe that you would be happier with a 85mm or 105mm. I have a 60mm myself and don't like the fact that I have to get so close to the subject to get 1:1 macro shots. Flowers can't run, but bugs and such can.

Just watch for those "Western Union" people on craigslist ..... and a longer macro does have its advantages, as BF said... I own the Sigma 150 for that reason ... damn thing is that Depth of Field is damn shallow ....

Thanks for all your comments! Actually, I am considering the 100mm Canon macro. I'll have a chance to try it out first with a friend who owns one, then I can decide :) I would prefer to be a little further way from the bees. I was also wondering about Sigma. I have the 18-200 Sigma lens and love it....

I own a 105 macro - it's fab! Also fab for portraits.
I have some macro ideas for a shoot this week- I'll post a few late this week after i shoot.
