Work's wild ride continues. It was my turn to run the month end processing Friday. There had been some changes to one type of account (adding rate tiers) and upper management wanted me to stop early on so they could go over some reporting with a fine toothed comb. An hour later I got to continue. Got out of work at 10:30pm. It was time to grab the camera and go. I figured if I got anything even remotely decent it would be a bonus.

Starting down Map Rock Road. The whole area has some really nice views, but much of the road has no shoulder at all. So it's difficult, once you're past about here, to get anything.

Of course, you could go up Pump Road
16216

That gives you a whole different view of the Snake (I, of course, chose the wrong time of day to be shooting from there - sun in an inconvenient place, and the afternoons are really dusty)

You can get details, though.

I finished the drive going around Lake Lowell. It's more properly a reservoir, with a dam at each end. There are a number of parking areas all around it, with easy access to the shore, bird blinds, trails, and the national wildlife refuge. The sun was pretty much down by the time I stopped in one of the lots.

The road I'm on runs along the top of the dam. It's a popular stretch to fish along.

There are farms and orchards all around the immediate area, and despite the way this looks, I'm very close to town, and home.

Thanks for taking us on your Journey QuietOne, and really love the views of the valley out Pump Rd. especially.

Some real nice ones there, QO. I haven't seen any milk weed around here in years.

Great landscapes. Particularly like the shot with moon and the shot with the bird on the water. Beautiful colors.

Very interesting and informative set. For me, "going up pump road" is a winner. Love the minimalistic approach on that one.

Thanks for the tour. Did I misread your post? Did you actually start the drive at 10:30pm? Only the last shot looks like it was that late. A very nice set though.

Thank you, all. Iguanasan, I guess I shouldn't be typing in the wee hours of the morning! I actually did the drive Saturday afternoon and early evening, simply because I had to get out of the house and do something! Work's been hard on just about everyone. Add that I haven't really been out much with the camera this spring and summer, and I figured it was simply time to change that.

Barefoot, we got milkweed. Want some?

I really should look at planning a drive along the Snake in the mid-morning some time, and trying to get to Lake Lowell a little earlier for sunsets. We'll see if I have the energy, the way things have been going.

Nice set with a lot of variety. I do like Pump Road and those seed pods.
