On a recent trip to visit the folks in Hong Kong I spent a a few hours at Tai O Village (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tai_O). It's just an hour up the coast on the same island where my parents live.

But mostly I just like taking pictures of the residents :) Most of them are older, the young 'uns have all left for the big city.

Yes a nice set indeed. I especially like the street shots, the low angle really works.

These are all so very well done. Love the use of b&w. Thanks for sharing these showing us a glimpse into another part of the world, and the lives within it.

I'm with everyone else - nice set, and the black and white does these justice.

Thanks for the comments everyone! It's an interesting place, dying out as a fishing village but probably with a future as a minor tourist attraction. Most of the street vendors are selling fish-related stuff but with a tourist angle like fishbone and seashell trinkets etc. Although some (like the guy in the last picture) are still doing the more traditional dried and salted fish.

I can only echo the others remarks here. The BW works ... cool set with lots of emotion
