The light was harsh but the majesty and sublime factor of the rock formations grabbed me big time.
Please feel free to comment or critique any aspect of this image.

It is certainly majestic Marko. The contrasting colour of the rock vs the sky work well. You have retained some nice sky detail.

Thx RM - I have more coming (some in softer light) from this magic place.

(BTW - this image was taken while standing on the hood of my rental car, something I highly recommend (lol) if u feel steady on your feet.)

That's a very interesting rock formation. I can understand how it grabbed you big time. (Not sure the rental company is going to be grabbed big time with the footprints on the hood of the car) The two big blocks of rock in the mouth are so different and don't look naturally forming there.

With the harsh light .... did you use a polarizing filter?

It's all natural and beautiful. There are petraglyphs in many places as well to add interest -
Yessiree - Polarizer is always on my lens in the day. This rendition of the scene is fairly natural, maybe I'll try to HDR it up a bit though.

Interesting rock, and I like your composition.

Fascinating rock ... it almost looks like an indian face cloaked with a feathery eagle head-dress

You can se that the light was quite harsh at time of pic, but that being said you managed so well to bring out so much detail within the foreground, and the sky still has wonderful colour without being washed, and detail within the clouds also. Very nicely controlled, and a very interesting formation that you have captured here, along with the nice comp./angle also Marko.

Very cool rock....reminds me of a cobra head. This day lighting is so tricky to work with but you nailed it.

Like everyone else has said, neat rock, and you brought out just how harsh the light is without losing detail. Did you get any photos of petroglyphs?
