I can't see any way of stopping it now. She's on a down hill slide, for sure. Where's Andy Griffith and Captain Kangaroo when you need them most?

I dig the comp and processing here.

Very nice B & W work. Lots of lovely tonal contrast. I love the B & W but am intrigued as to what the colors were actually like.

As already mentioned great tonal contrast and processing. Good job!

This works so well for me. Love the tones, and sharp details brought forth by your pp.

Don't know if this is what you mean by your captioning, but my first thought that came into my head was "America The Beautiful", after reading your sentence, then looking at the pic. No disrespect to any Americans or their fine country here. Just really jumps out at me with this thought.

Actually, you nailed it, HBG. There is quite a bit of symbolism in the image to my eye. The large container (melting pot?) holding small flags that may not be so easy to discern in the left window. The faded, tattered, and worn American flag on the right along with the crumbling facade. It all speaks to me. I've shot this scene several times in the past up until they put a horribly large "For Sale" sign in the window. Maybe the sign would have added since it appears that everything and everyone here can be bought.

Anyway, the building was sold and will soon be a Caribbean restaurant and I figured I best get a few more of it before the renovations begin. Thanks, HBG.

I quite like it, and the flags really add to the picture for sure.

I agree. It does however give you that double meaning as HBG mentioned.

I do love the tones of this!
