This one is awesome on so many levels. First, I just love the colour (not surprising, eh?). The streaks give me a sense of motion and make me feel off balance which I think I would if I was standing that close to this sketchy looking fellow. I love that his eyes are on the same plane and are not distorted... you either worked really hard for that or got lucky, either way, kudos to you on that. I can't find anything I don't like. Well done! :)

Love the colour and light motion. Cigarette is cool too.

What is the hit rate on these kinds shots?

Thanks for the comments!!

The hit rate really depends on many factors; one of the big factors is whether or not people are involved. I have a much better hit rate without people.

For this shoot I took about 40ish images and I'm happy with about 4 of them. Of the 4, this one was my fave and likely the only one I will process.
I guess that makes the hit rate for this shoot 10%. Without people it might be 20-25%.

With this technique (intentional camera movement - ICM) it's very simple to produce 'something'.....but difficult to produce something 'good'. (far more difficult imo than straight photography).
And 'good' of course is in the eye of the creator, as well as the eye of the viewer(s) who may or may not agree.

Super shot . By applying this technique to lights / night-time you have really taken this technique and made it your own. I cant recall having ever seen anything similar to your lights + ICM style (at least with the control of the composition).

When I saw this on Facebook, I thought the very same thing. It's nothing short of magical.

One of the best I've seen from you Marko. I really like how you played with color, movement, slow exposure and in addition mystery "in focus". Just excellent.

Every one of these are so interesting and you sure do know how to execute this so well Marko. Very nicely done.

I second that in a heartbeat. Question, Marko: push pull lens on that one?

Matt, yes but the exact motions are never recorded as it kills my flow.
My next camera will have a voice recorder though so i can record notes more easily.
