you are just too busy shooting away, changing cameras and angles. We flew over this area of the lava flow, and now that I look at the image i can see things I was not aware off. First of all: there is some seismic activity measuring equipment on the bottom right side, with solar panel for power. Right at the edge of the flow. There are trails of people along the red new lava ... most likely from scientists or some vulcanologist. You can see some of the cinder cones forming where the lava is much hotter than in the main flow; they are sprinkled all over the place. Then you can see a rift in the lava, where the flow is way lower down. Different color is different temperature. Quite amazing. Unfortunately you cannot make this out in the small version, so click on it and it will lead you to the original image, much easier to find the stuff on it ....

Fantastic opportunity ... and a really cool shot. Is that sea or sky in the background? Are the lighter patches hotter or cooler?
