The dead rose.

The Voynich Manuscript was written somewhere between the 15th and 16th centuries and is known as "the world's most mysterious manuscript". The manuscript has been studied by many professional and amateur cryptographers, yet has never been deciphered. It's pages contain a mysterious, unreadable written language and biological illustrations of unidentifiable plants. You can read more about it on Wikipedia.

I found out that the entire Voynich manuscript has been scanned and is available online under the public domain license. I used one of the pages to embed into my dead rose image, why? Because you find dead roses between old bibles, diaries & books, my dead rose needed to identify with something I felt this was appropriate.

Very nice image combination Kevin. Perfect DOF making the right part of the rose become the main subject.

Thanks ewaizel. I try to give my fine-art images an extra element, some people like them some don't but at the end of the day your own creative interpretation is important.

I really like this one too Kevin. The narrow DOF, the colour and the texture all work for me.

I will also take this opporttunity to say welcome to the forum.

Cool effect, looks like a double exposure.
