View Full Version : Coloured Rocks (Spittle Beach Northumberland, England)

This is part of a set of images of Spittal beach Northumberland. The beach is a very interesting place, at the end of the beach there are some old mine workings and there is water constantly running from the workings. Not being a geologist myself I'm not sure what the water is running over, it could be iron but for about 100yrds along the beach from the workings the colours in the rocks are amazing.

Spittle Beach? You'd think they could have come up with a better name! Perhaps it's a family name thing.
