February 2009 - Members Choice Nominations

During the month of February, people can copy and paste any photos they see posted within the "Critique", "Show Your Photo" and "Photo Assignments" sub forums, that they believe is sound enough (technically and creatively) to be chosen for the member vote at the end of the month. The winner of the poll gets the monthly Members Choice Award!!!!!

Look forward to seeing the best of the best and pulling hairs out at the end of the month...:D

So you are in the right place and is the thread where the nominations take place and members should feel free to nominate any image they think worthy from these 3 forums; "Critique (http://www.photography.ca/Forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2)", "Show Your Photo (http://www.photography.ca/Forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11)" and "Photo Assignments (http://www.photography.ca/Forums/forumdisplay.php?f=13)"

Ok then who is nominating first?

Marko, thank you. After reading about your podcosts on the forum, I searched out your most recent one. Thank you for the mention in your podcast, and thanks again for this. It is nice to hear that people appreciate your work and your input. I'm listening to the podcast now, waiting to hear what your standards are. Knowing you picked one of my images, and it met your standards, is gratifying. Thank you. This forum is an awesome place to be. Keep up the work.

It's my pleasure JJ and Barefoot!

But why am I the only one nominating so far...
Surely there are other good images for nomination - no? Is it still too early in the month....noooooo:)

People shouldn't be shy to nominate images that appeal to them. Obviously the images shouldn't be crap, but they don't have to be perfect either; just decent and appealing to the nominator.

Don't be shy people.....come on you can do it. :D

And this one ... love the boys expression. He's totally engrossed in the story Grandad is reading! It's an inside shot and the lighting is nice.

It's easy peasey Kat ;)

Just start a new thread and under the text box you type in you see Additonal Options. In that section is the fields for adding a Poll. Just select 5 and then put in the names of the 5 photos you chose.

Usually there's an option for hiding the results and an expiry but this forum either doesn't offer that or Marko has it turned off.

Back up in the text box copy and paste the photos in with those names so we know which you are reffering to.

Maybe state how long we have to vote ... I'd suggest max of 2 weeks. All regular visitors should have been here by then.

Done.

Kat has made her choices and sent them to me since she was having trouble.
I will post them on her behalf along with an anonymous poll at some point today.

Thanks!

Ha ha..I was doing good till the copy and pasting the photos...every time I would do it it would make the page different to where it was only the photo. Probably no sense there..lol. Thanks MA for the help though..maybe I shouldn't of tried doing it at 12am either

Sorry, I didn't read the manual.

One of the reasons I haven't participated in this thing that much is that I seemed to have to read and digest multiple long thread postings in different forums on the rules, which was a bit too much for me to process...

Marko
03-03-2009, 01:05 PM
It's true there are a few rules, but we just started doing this and it will make more sense as we do a few of them.

Ok everyone - this thread is now closed and one for March is open here. Please nominate March submissions in this thread link.
http://www.photography.ca/Forums/showthread.php?p=13380

Feel free to post any question in that thread and the rules are re-written for ease in the first post.

Many thanks - and GREAT submissions!!:goodvibes:highfive:
