It's an odd angle for me. The tones look decent though.

Thank you Marko. To me the angle is what sets it off and makes it interesting. The sharpness of the overall shot contrasted by the blur of the truck, along with the perpendicular and parallel lines is also attractive to me. I took several shots with different vehicles but the dark truck made a better balance in the image with my dark shoe and pant leg as opposed to a lighter color vehicle. Thank you. I think I see what you’re saying and I can agree that it would probably be better image to just simply look at.

When I take images like this my intent is for it to be more thought about than just simply look at. To not have just one central focus on one element, in this case a moving truck driving down a street, as you and others would see it, but to give thought to the entire scene. To me there are a couple things to be seen in this: Sitting on a city bench taking in the common city surroundings, or the sense of a relaxed mood and a hasty mood in contrast. These are the things I was experiencing when I took this and I tried to capture the mood of the surroundings and myself at that time in an image.

I’m not always successful in relaying my thoughts because, understandably, a person usually wants to focus on a central interest on one element of a photo.

I guess it’s as once said; it’s in the eye of the beholder.

Really intersting image Lorey, the angles and movement are certainly confronting. After reading your reply, I certainly get the city street feel and the B & W works well.

I really admire your approach and I wish to develop this further myself.

When I first looked at this yesterday, and before your reply, my first thoughts were like Marko's. However looking at your previous posts and starting to understand the thought that you put into photos, I therefore gave it more detailed consideration and looked for something deeper.

I actually thought that it may be representaing the perspective of someone who had collapsed in the street, and maybe was even related to your "the Last Encore".

Runmonty, thank you for the kind reply. Even though I may have a thought of my own in a photo like this one when I take it, I also like it to be viewed as food for the viewer's imagination to relate it to whatever they see in it. I think it's interesting that you related it to "the Last Encore". That's great!

I'm more drawn to attempt the, I guess you could say, artistic side of photography more than the "eye candy" type. Not that I don't enjoy eye candy, and that I don't do my share of it, because I've done a great deal of it and sure I will probably do more. But ever since I was about 11 my interest has been more into the thought provoking side. Creating it and viewing what others do in it.
