So they get your stuff even if you win nothing. A few other companies do that as well.

It's actually more common than you would think. They are not so much running a contest as they are gathering potential promotional material for a very low cost. :)

Nice one, AT. The big problem is, they generally don't even give you credit when they use your image so I'm not sure how beneficial it would be to win.

As long as it's by a woman ... then yes! ;)

Hell ... I walk around in skanky clothing just hoping it will happen! :)

Nice MA.

Iggy - u are 100% right.

They give away a 3000. camera (that they probably did not pay for) and save tens of thousands on publicity.

Only amateurs will enter a contest like this (or pros that hate reading).

Sounds like the Rules from the photo contest for the United Way at my work last year (which I entered and won). They used the ruse of money for the United way as a ruse for as Iggy said "potential promotional material". I thought that I would enter a picture that would really fit the theme but wasn't one of my real keepers. However the more I look at that picture the more I like it and realize it was better that I originally thought. Now I pissed because I can't do anything with it because I signed over the rights.

They just posted that they are running the contest again this year. Not sure if I will enter. If I do I will make sure it is a crappier picture that I don't care about.
