This was taken last spring and I wanted to give a B&W treatment to it.

This is a great shot!!!

What size was it when you up loaded to the site, because it looks a little soft, and if it is bigger than 275kb, the site will re-size it and make it soft? It is size 235k right now, so I am guessing it did re-size it.

It may just be me, but I would liek to see a little more separation of the blacks and whites. It is a little too gray to me (more of a taste)

I see you don't mind people editing your images. I did this real quick, just to give you an example. It has a slight HDR feel to it because I had to do an "unsharp mask" on it, due to the softness.

I did upload it to my Flickr but it is private so no one can see it but here. I will delete it later. Do you have a Flickr acct?

Very nice Don. I really like the shot and the processing.

Sorry AT, I much prefer the original with the better tones, and i find yours a bit over-sharpened.

You don't find his a little soft (probably from up load)? I know mine is over sharpened, I was just trying to rid the softness. I was actually just wanting to show him a little more separation of the B&W.

Hi,

Thank you for the responses! Yes, I did upload a full size version. I will keep that in mind next time to resize the photo for upload. AT, yes I do have a Flickr account. It's DonTX1.

Thank you so much!

Very nice Don. Really like the comp here. Just a touch more contrast and a little sharpening would make this one pop.

Very nice shot, Don. I think you captured a nice range in this shot. If you were to up the contrast, I wouldn't go crazy. You've got some blacks in the doorway, windows and shadows and I'm not convinced that you really need to up the contrast much, if at all.

Nice shot Don! I'm liking the black/white treatment and the textures in this one. Kind of agree with Jason here....I would not change too much imo.

Oh I agree, as in just a tad more contrast, but just needed a little pop and a touch sharper, without adding artifacts is all.
Hope you don't mind Don, as I really love this scene you captured.

No, I don't mind it at all. I like the increased pop you gave it, HillbillyGirl. Thank you for taking the time to demonstrate!
