I was asked to submit a B & W landscape for an internal competition at my local camera club. I love landscapes but I am not a good judge whether they work in B & W or not. If you have anything to say good or bad, I would really appreciate the feedback. Thanks in advance,

Hi Missy - I like this overall but it's missing something for me tonally - it might be both overall contrast and some selective contrast boosting. Hope that may help.

Works for me! I like the curve of the rocks and the misty water along shore. Don't much care for that little rock island on the horizon though....its take away from the view imo.

Thank you guys. Marko... after brushing in some selective contrast it really made quite a difference. Thank you for your guidance. Aubintbay, I agree with your comment about the rock. It does take my eye away but I am having trouble cloning it out without evidence being left behind. I will keep trying... UGGHHH!

I am still trying to figure out a way to clone out the distracting rocks but am not doing too good :(. Here is what I have with your suggestions Marko. Thanks for asking

To my eye this version is an improvement!

I like it and think it works in B&W well in the second shot.
