Late Fall and all Winter is sunset time here on The Humboldt Coast of the far northern corner of California. From my front yard, looking just a bit North of due West, hence the bright area to the left. I'm on top of the first ridge in from the beach, all of 25 feet of elevation and about a quarter mile from the water. My kitchen window faces West, so when at the computer and I see my kitchen light up with color, I grab the camera and get outside. This one from last Tuesday. Three treatments. I'm still working on a Raw to B&W workflow which satisfies me. Rich

Interesting that the black and white conversion makes it look like something's about to break loose, and not just a rain storm. I like the effect.

Thanks, QuietOne. The longer I look at the B&W I become more convinced that it is too harsh. It reminds me of a still taken from a film by the great Jacques Tourneur, like 1957's "Curse of the Demon". Rich

B&W is little too harsh for me. colour does much more justice IMO

No doubt about it, Anuj. I'm just getting started at B&W conversion from color raw and I have a long way to go. At this point, I too prefer the color versions. Thanks for looking and commenting. Rich

Really like #2 with the bold contrast between the silhouettes and the vibrant sky.

Thank you, Hillbillygirl. I made about a dozen versions until I got the contrast I wanted. I appreciate you noticing. Rich

Really like the first two. The B&W I find a little over cooked for my taste.
