I like this one. I wouldn't necessarily call it "tension", but the two figures facing in different directions, one dressed as I might...and the other not, provides plenty of interest for me. Sort of a dual personality thing is what I'm trying to say, I guess. I really dig the reflection of the woman in the window as well.(or maybe she's inside?)

You have some powerful photographs on your website, too.

I always struggle with these types of shots. It does have a lot of interesting elements to it. The most interesting one to me are the shoes that the clown is wearing. That's just what stood out to me, the gloves are weird, I wish I could see his face, but look at those shoes..... there is nothing wrong with them, they look perfectly normal, but completely out of place.

It is interesting to hear other peoples thoughts about this image. To me it is the gloves that draw my attention.

As you know Lorey, I always appreciate the thought that goes into your images and I enjoy trying to interpret any meaning behind them. In this case I am somewhat mesmerized and keep going back for another look. I feel a tension that I cant quite put my finger on (and don't know if I really want to). Thanks for challenging me

I think the photo is intriguing but my eye is pulled to the right side especially the right edge. Given the crop through the clowns foot on that edge, visually I have no idea what the story is so to speak even though my eye wants to know about those weird hands. The people behind the clown do not help the situation to my eye. So for me the whole right side is very confused.

I see a much clearer story and very clean composition on the left side of the image without the clown, so for me....hate to say it but I find the clown a distraction. Left side works well as a vertical to my eye if clown is cropped out.

The 'clown' had some kind of ghoulish or zombie like mask on. It matched it's hands. The woman in the window is a reflection.

I like this because it challenges and stirs the imagination. Finding elements that are unrelated grouped close enough together to put in an image frame is a great find to me. Each viewer can use their own imagination to create their own meaning or sort out what is good, or bad, about it. Hate to say it, but cropping out half of the image would take away about 90% of its interest,…. Of course that is IMO only. I would find it quite boring if every picture was self-explanatory and technically correct. But I do like a lot of images that are. I like variety. Most of all I like taking these types of images but I don't get a chance to capture them real often.
