But they don't want to give me a dime, they don't want to credit me, and they want me to sign a waiver to let them use the photos. The waiver is very strict about how no compensation can ever come my way. Where do I sign? How do I become famous?

You want me to write a reply to them? I have my way ;)

"Dear F%$#@&TS..."

seriously? what do they want them for? Tell them they can have the photos for free but they have to pay for your labour.....

The company that wanted to use mine (they ended up not selecting it) was at least going to give me credit in the production.

Thanks MA - lol.
Bambi - They want to use the photos as 'background dressing'.

Seriously though, I have a few photos being used by a TV station every day, and honestly, apart from some weak bragging rights to family and friends, it doesn't mean much. I got paid for the photos... they wouldn't have them otherwise.
I have, in the past, provided photos on several occasions for no cost to small magazines etc but I'm done with that now. They pay or they can find someone else. Other than charity, I'm still soft when it comes to charity and will allow them to use a photo or I'll make them an image for banner advertising free of charge.

Marko, I'd name my price and conditions and tell them to take it or lump it!

I agree with MA. No real bragging rights if no-one knows they are yours. All it may do is advertise your style for others to try to imitate but without credit or acknowledgement.

Had they personally asked me for work. I would have asked for cash and credit..
But it was a coincidence that my work was at a place that would get filmed....so all I asked for was credit.
And after telling them they could not film the work without credit, late yesterday they changed their minds and will credit me.

Thx all!

Good! This attitude businesses seem to have of "let's not pay for anything" is getting out of hand. They're a business. Build it into the expenses. And the reply to, "Why should we if we can get it for free?" is "It's not right, and whatever happened to the concept of 'fair exchange' when doing a deal?"
