I know I know...she put up another one. :(

This photo is going to a friend and up on her wall. She's been asking for it for a while. I just want to make sure I've got what I can do for it done. I can't see anything right now. I can't change the positioning of the photo or go back and take another - but anything else I'm all ears..thank you.

I think you should change the position of the light:)

Of course I'm kidding....I would only maybe try and dodge the blackish cloud above the lamp as it comes off like some weird shadow to me, other than that it' good. You could clip the light out, carefully clone in some cloud then paste the lamp back in and arrange it how you like but it would be a bit of work. I could give it a shot if you like.

I'm with you on the black cloud up top of the light..I was looking at it too. I'm not gonna do the clipping..a) I can't but more for the reason that she likes it for what it is..lol. Personnally, I wish I could go back and shoot again. I'd definatly change my position to make it more..lined. Boo to me for not even looking. Boy do you learn as you go though!

Although if you want to give it a shot..then it would be right! Up to you..if you have time :)

I'd love to give it a shot, keeps me in shape:) Can you hook me up with the full image?

Then again no worries, If you're friend isn't going to get It I'll just poke around with the posted version:)

Here's a quick stab at it using the small file just to show what I meant.

And no...The lamp doesn't have to be right dead center:)

Aright..black gotta go! I'm debating the change in the light..in a way I like how it stands out in a way I don't...hmmm...

I did desaturated the cyan's in the lamp glass a tiny bit but one could just as easily not do that, to my eye it looked a bit too blue but then my eye is wonky sometimes:)

yes, i think the darker cloud has to go as well - it looks almost like smoke trailing from the top of the light. and the straighter up&down post improves the shot as well... it is a bit blue, which looks fine to me, but have you tried a b&w conversion? with a black border and a nice matt, it would be great framed!

I think be careful kat. Remember ... photography is subjective and your friend likes what she saw ... she may not be so impressed with the changes. It's what she likes, not what you or we like in this case.
Maybe give her two choices.

Having said that I like the dark cloud but agree it needs a tad of dodging ... but not as much as Michael did becasue he scared it right away and the photo lost some dramatism in my opinion.

Alright..done and done!! :D

I got both versions going to the friend, because I like both and want her to have a good photo up on the wall!!! Thankyou for taking the time! I really appreciate it..and it's nice to see how things come out before I take 2 hours to get it done..! Hopefully with practice that time comes down..please

Thank you again!!!!
:highfive:

I did zap it pretty hard with the cloning didn't I but really I just did a five minute trip on it to give kat the idea that things could be changed. It did indeed lose some drama with my changes.

Hmm..some how I missed this post and once again,,,confused. I think I should really dye my hair blonde :D

It's funny. I now have four version and sent them off. Most likely though..the original will be picked. But it's nice to get that variety for her..and practice in for me.

It was a hard photo from the beginning. A failed HDR with halo all over the place..patience was a virtue on this one.

I quite like this interesting image; for me it's a bit too centered, but I still dig it:D

I'm with you on the centeredness. I took this way before I read that everything doesn't have to be, nor should be smack in the middle of the photo ;)

I would of loved to crop it out but she wants a big version and that doesn't leave much room for cropping and making it look good still.

I was wondering, would a template be a good thing to create? That way you can always have the same photo (no cropping needed) for different sizes requested? Just plop it in and only the template size changes..is that possible? Ohh..boy. That probably doesn't make any sense at all!!!

Kiley!!! I missed your post too!! Wow..I think I must of missed some new posts or something.. I haven't even thought to make it B&W and the border!!! I'm on that today..that would look so sweet..if the color one with a border. :highfive:

Hence why I ask about that template..
