So these are some conceptual pictures that I've just recently finished. At this point I'm looking for some sort critique so I can improve and expand on this style of photography, and eventually build of series. Anything regarding the use of colours, composition, theme, story, etc. is what I'm looking to improve on.

Thank you.

Hi Zak and welcome to the forum! (this post was automatically moderated but future posts will not be)

Here goes a quick critique ( for the future the best critiques will have 1 picture per post....as we like to write quite a bit but too many pics per post makes this difficult)

First off, I like the creative and thinking and composition in all shots except #3.

1 - This is quite abstract as it's just stars over clouds in a darkish sky with a barely visible person that I almost missed - being so abstract/conceptual I'd like to see the colors pop more and the person more - as i can't sink my teeth into this image the way it is if that makes any sense. If it were mine I'd dodge the girl by 25% at least.

2 - I'm guessing one of your techniques is deliberately making the image dark. You are making us work though to see certain important details like what looks to be a woman dancing. I like the dark theme but for me, it's about 20-25% too dark on the model.

3 - My least favourite of the set as the model isn't doing anything interesting for me. The light on her is nice tho.

4 - My fave of the set by a country mile. It's dark, yet clear what is going on. if it were mine though the girl would be dodged by about 15-25% and the floor underneath the girl by 5-10%.

Hope that may help, (it's JMO) and hope to see more of these interesting images!
