I applied for a Media pass for a festival thats in Toronto in two weeks but I missed the deadline by two days and was not expecting one, but I wrote to them anyway and asked the worse they can say is no.
Well they did say no but the woman who runs the media division said if she had seen my concert photos prior they themselves would have hired me and would like me to go and see her during the festival and just so she can meet me. She called my work astounding, phenomenal, and she not sure why I am not working for major media, that my photographs are exceptional. So she suggested I send my work to media and said not to forget the poor people when I am famous and had to reject me because they had no more passes.
She wants to meet me so that next fall if I am still freelancing they will hire me directly. She phoned me, usually I get a yes or no from an email but she said she had to talk to the genius who took the photographs and apologize for not being able to give me one. This is the first media pass I have asked for since setting up my concert photography site, hope the rest of the season I get my applications in on time. She will also give me some leads on who to send my portfolio to.
