I will beeping some night shooting of the Disney Christmas parade and special Christmas fireworks display over Ciderella's castle.

I don't want to miss it, so I ask you good people what setting should I use? I figure for the night time parade, just a high ISO and and in TV setting, set a little over my FL.

For the fireworks keep the ISO low and try different exposures on tripod w/cabvle release- maybe start with 4 or 8 seconds - I like to work on manual, see what i get and fine tune from there.

For the parade, I'm not sure I'd use flash...but that's very personal. I'd use high ISO...I might use TV setting but chances are it would be AV and i would keep my eye on the shutter speed..

Flash is hard to describe here because we don't know what the light will be....in general, for me, less is more (when possible).

I was never planning on using a flash with the parade, just high ISO.

One thing about the fireworks. They will be over Ciderella's castle, which will be well lit.

I did grab some great shots tonight in Downtown Disney. I cannot share because everything is in RAW (didn't bring my computer.

Just throwing this out there. Please, please don't rely on me for this.

For the castle, perhaps on a tripod with remote release expose for the castle, lowest ISO, very narrow aperture. This will force the longest practical shutter speed.

Well, I got all set up with tripod, cable release, etc. had about a 3 sec exposure, etc. people got in front of me. I move locations and before I could get everything set up, the fireworks display goes off. I'm standing there no even close to ready, so I slam it in TV 50 sec, ISO 4000, and hand held the whole thing. It looks great on the back of the camera, but gotta wait until Tuesday before I see anything.

As for the parade, I ended up using the flash. They came out great from what I can tell.

I'm jones'n for a computer now.

BTW, 14 & 1/2 hours at Magic Kingdom is enough to kill a man!!! But, that place is a sensory overload for a photographer.

We do it all over again in about 8 hours at Epcot.

Feels like I have clown feet.
