This is one of the first HDR photographs that I have taken. I have tried to play a little bit with shadows and highlights in Lightroom, but I did not want to change it a lot.

Once I have upload the photograph in my computer, I have noticed that bright light on right side form the nearby light. I should move forward few steps but I have not noticed that during shooting...

What do you think about this photo? What I could do to improve it a bit more?

Thanks

Hi emils. What a beautiful building. I have to say though, this isn't a shot I would have chosen HDR for. Night time is all about the shadows, so to remove them from where they should be seems to be a little counter productive to me somehow.

For improvement, my first suggestion is to re-shoot it when there is no building materials and pallets lying around. Of course if this is a holiday shot, re-shooting may not be an option. I think if I were there at that time I would have taken a shot like this as a reference but I would have concentrated on getting in closer and from different angles to a) exclude the unwanted items and b) highlight the various elements within the architecture itself... windows, stonework, bell tower, front door etc.

To improve this actual shot with post processing I guess cloning out that unwanted light flair from the top right would be the first thing I'd do. Maybe crop the image in closer to the bottom to remove the foreground as the dirt isn't adding anything positive to this image in my view. If you are keen, you could trying cloning a couple of windows in over the top stack of pallets also.

Anyhow, I hope some of that is useful :)
