While decorating the Christmas tree, my wife was on the second rung of a ladder. She thought she was on the bottom rung. She stepped down, thinking she was reaching for the floor, lost her balance and shattered her heel bone.

She will be off her feet for a couple weeks, and walking wounded for a few months. (And she may need surgery to rebuild the joint, we find out in couple days)
