Initially, when I saw ICM photos I thought, ugh, why can't they get it in focus? Then you showed me some amazing images and I realized that it's difficult to get a great shot using ICM but when you do, it can be amazing and I've been amazed by quite a few of the ones you shared. This one, not so much. Something about the large blue sky which doesn't become blurry and so it just looks to me like some blurry stuff in the sky. Sorry, just how it feels to me.

I really like this one, and in a way I think it's because of reasons Iguanasan doesn't like it! I find the starkness of the scene gives a really interesting feel to the photograph, and I really like the way it feels like a missed shot from the 1960's or 70's, as if someone pulled out the camera at the last second and didn't have time to fix the shutter speed before the amazing new aircraft came in for a landing. The next shot would be in focus, but the framing would be all wrong... I guess in short it's the story I create around the photo that makes it so appealing to me.

Does any of that make sense?

I will have to agree with Iggy, this one doesn't do it for me like many of your ICM images. It is very flat and the composition doesn't sit with me. I know I am not one to tell you how to compose a photo, but too much of an extreme on the non-formal composition along with the ICM, hurts this image (IMO)

ICM should never look like it was an accident (even if it was, like the ones I do ;) ), hence the name of the type of photography, Intentional Camera Movement.

Perhaps, but what if that's what you need for a particular story? It's hard to accidentally get the right photo, but you can try to fake it! ;)

Doesn't work for me but it is reminiscent of Ernst Haas photos of movement - bullfights, horses and people running,

You could make it B&W and make it more artsy :)
