A buddy of mine just called and said he just got an e-mail from me this morning...Nothing unusual about that. Here's the weird thing...I sent the e-mail in March 2002 (cue Twilight Zone music here!) How can this happen? I was with a totally different IP in those days. Anyone savvy in the workings of the e-mail system got an explanation for this?

Is email also run by Canada Post? That'd make sense if it was! :D

No offence to any postal workers out there.....

Our guess is the ISP you used to use all those years ago somehow caught that email when you sent it and for whatever reason it wasn't actually sent.
Now, after 7 years, someone at that ISP has kicked over that old server with the email client on it and for whatever reason and that email has been sent.

Only other thing I can think of is your mate has recently kicked over an old email program. He may have been using Outlook Express back then for example and these days he's using Microsoft Outlook. If he started Outlook Express for the first time 7 years that could explain it to I guess.
