I have a corporate shoot coming up at a local Audiovisual company. They wan head shots and whatnot for their website. I have 5 strobes but no scrim or soft box. I was thinking though that I could use one of their 8' or 6' projection screens to bounce the flash and it should do the same job. With the keystone bar at the top of the screen I can get a fair amount of down angle. Anyone tried this?

I don’t see why you couldn’t make that work. When you say strobes, do you mean like speed lights? If so, you’d probably have to fire them in manual mode instead of TTL. Beg, borrow, or steal(;)) one of the screens if you can and play around with it at home if you have the time before you actually do the shoot. If you don't want to ask the use of theirs, for obvious reasons, find one somewhere else.

i've tried that, bouncing from a projection screen and worked fine. if you can get one of those cheap big styrofoam ice chests, cut a hole at the center of the bottom to fit the lamphead and cover the top with thin white cloth, you have an instant softbox.

Good point ...Thanks:)
